Tighten Your Abdominals With Isometric Exercise
We are all looking for that smaller tighter abdominal area. Beware of all of the advertising that is out there with acai berry and colon cleansing. All those items do is clean out your colon with diarrhea and dehydrate you .so yes there is a number loss on the scale but you did not lose body fat.
As seen on the Today Show Feb. 26, 2009 newer studies have just come out on weight loss and dieting. The bottom line is less intake in your calories (but not eating less than 1200 calories) and more output or movement and exercise.
Unfortunately there is not a magic bullet out there, and yes you need to work at losing weight on a daily basis.
I spoke to a client a few years ago and she told me she was performing 300 crunches a day. I looked at her and asked why. She stated that her boyfriend told her to get rid of her belly she needed to do lots of crunches. So she did just that.
I looked at her and told her that her body is made up of bone, on top of bone is muscle and on top of muscle is body fat. Performing all those crunches did have a benefit. She had very strong abdominal muscles but she still had a belly. I continued to explain to her that you can not spot reduce. That means that you can not take one area of the body and reduce the body fat in just that area.
To reduce any belly fat you will need to incorporate a healthier nutritional intake. Limit your junk foods and limit your calories not going under 1200 calories. If you are an active individual you will need to take in 1500 to 2000 calories and you will still be able to have energy and lose body fat. You will also need to incorporate strength training and aerobic activity.
To strengthen your belly yes you can perform crunches or perform the IsoBreathing breathing technique to tighten the entire length of your abdominals, or you can hold your belly in for as long as you can performing an isometric exercise. (Don’t forget to breathe) You can work on machines at the gym or exercise ball for crunching variety.
Again there is no magic bullet just your will power. Yes you all have it. You just need to use it.
